Casa Candoni formerly villa Josefine

129 Via Roma, Tarvisio

posizione/location

Built around 1870 by the businessman Ludwig Baumgartner, (fam. Baumgartner-Krcivoj); the current appearance of the house dates from the end of the 19th century.

The previous building was smaller than what we see today.

The building consists of a single rectangular body and the architecture contains elements drawn from the Italian renaissance style together with more Nordic aspects.

The rectangular Windows topped with triangular or semi-elliptic gables alternate with arched mullioned windows.

A remarkable architectural feature is the original bow window, rotated in relation to the façade and set on a corner.
