The Museum of Mining and the geo-mineral park

The building was formerly the head offices of the mines in Cave del Predil.

The first floor is now home to the museum dedicated to the mine.

Mining started here in Roman times and only came to an end in 1991.

Some of the more accessible tunnels in the mine have been made safe and are now open to visitors.

Accompanied by guides who describe how the minerals were extracted, visitors can enjoy a fascinating and evocative journey through what once was one of the most important mines in Italy.
